SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The Jason M. Baker Public Safety Scholarship was designed to encourage other young people to pursue careers in public safety. Jason was a student at IU at the time of his death. After his full time freshman year he was enrolled part time at IUPUI recognizing the importance that a well rounded education would provide as he served his community.

To encourage educational growth we provide financial support to the scholarship winner for up to 4 years as long as they are a full time student and meet the schools academic eligibility. To ensure fairness and reach as many potential applicants as possible, we contracted with the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) to manage the scholarship funds and reach Indiana High Schools.

Each year a new recipient is selected for the 4 year $6,000 scholarship. Visit the recipients link on this website to view current winners.

You can find out more about the scholarship and/or apply by clicking here.

Your school guidance counselor should also be able to assist as they have received the CICF Scholarship Booklet which is published and distributed annually to Indiana high Schools.
